Bert Thomson
Councillor for Blantyre
Bert is a Scottish Labour Councillor for Blantyre (Ward 15) on South Lanarkshire Council.
Bert has been a local councillor in Blantyre for 14 years and in that time he has served on every committee on the council. His interest in politics started when he took an active role in his local community council.
He successfully led a campaign to stop the council from building a crematorium in a public park.
He is also currently the Vice Chair of the Blantyre Volunteer group.
