The Government should never have sought to charge EU citizens who have the right to be here £65 to stay. These people are our neighbours, our friends and our families.

After the Windrush scandal, many will not trust the Home Office to secure their right to stay. I plan to continue to put pressure on the Government to ensure that EU citizens know how to register for the settlement scheme and to try and ensure that no-one who has the right to remain should feel uneasy about their place here.
