Today I joined campaigners at the Scottish Parliament and supported my colleague Monica Lennon MSP’s debate on Care Home Closures in South Lanarkshire along with James Kelly MSP, Claudia Beamish MSP, Councillor Joe Fagan and Councillor Lynsey Hamilton.

It was very disappointing that no SNP MSPs from South Lanarkshire including Clare Haughey and Christina McKelvie were present at the debate to defend these valued care homes. It’s about time the South Lanarkshire Council minority administration listened to services users and the wider community in Blantyre and Larkhall and ditched these plans.
